There are several lakes up here that I can point you to where you can be sung to sleep by the Loons. Very pretty.

I don't know if you are aware of this but they live in water all of the time. Their legs can not support their oversized breast for floatation so they can not walk on land. Because of that they need undisturbed and wild shoreline for them to crawl up on too nest. Unfortunately as people rip rap and mow to the edge of the water they lose areas to nest which is why there aren't nearly as many around as there used to be.
