andrew - thanks. most poems i have a clear idea whether they're good, bad, or middlin'. others, like that one, i don't know and i'm not sure if they'll speak to anyone else. partly because the images are such a part of my ongoing story. i'm glad it said something to you. i think i'll let that part of my poetic oddessy rest for the time being.(g) i'll take "i'm sorry for your loss" as a cyber shrug with sympathetic look. that works for me. my appreciation of your humor grows daily, sir. jp
