I'm not going to hypothesize on the effects of something real & unavoidable & what voters perceptions might be at some future date. Besides there are too many other variables that will also be in play. I am not, however, making weak excuses about real events that clearly have irrefutable historical corroboration. The Clinton bubble & his utter failure of dismantling our intelligence community & military, combined with his absolute failure to deal with the growing terrorist menace brought together two powerful forces that shocked this economy. The fact that we didn't have year or more of sustained recession is tribute to how Bush has handled himself & managed this economy. History will not forget the Clinton legacy of the bubble induced market collapse & recession as it will condemn him for his near complete failure to address the growing terrorist menace. JMO
