Why would you say Kerry "lost" an endorsement he never had?
Gephardt is well-known as the union's man. Kerry doesn't kowtow to those kind of special interests. Has taken very little union money over the years. That's a good thing, not a bad thing. Gephardt has very little support outside the unions. And the head of AFL-CIO recently stated Kerry was THE man, not an endorsement but his opinion about who can beat Bush.
