TV media (pictures and words) and printed media (papers from the US and the world...) I watched off and on, CNN, Fox News Cable, and MSNBC....LOTS of camera shots...but what was most interesting was to hear the comments. And then the commentators at the end of the day.

The camera shots from all the services had tight shots as well as long shots. Agreed, from the US standards of a riot, or celebration that had been preplanned, complete with candles and marching instructions, there were only a few hundred folks there with their kids.

Which was my point. Did we think the US Military had time to send engraved invitations to the entire population for the event?

Soldiers not too far away from that statue were under fire from Saddams leftover henchmen.

The responsible press noted this. Others carped.

BTW...Welcome back...! Hope you had a great time! Weddings are always fun. Or should be, anyhow...<g>
