If I were a Democrat I'd stand aside and let Bush have all the tax relief he wants: Elimination of the double-tax on dividends and the AMT tax, as well as the reduction in marginal rates. I'd claim I couldn't stop him-because he has too much influence.

I'd do that, if I were a Democrat. Because, as an HONEST Democrat, I'd be convinced that the policies would drive up interest rates and create a depression SO I COULD WIN 40 HOUSE SEATS.

But: I'm NOT a Democrat. And there ARE no HONEST Democrats. The Democrats won't follow the strategy above because they are LYING TO YOU. They KNOW the Clinton/Rubin economic disaster would be quickly ended, and that Bush would get credit for the resumption of the Reagan Prosperity.

CYBERKEN:

excellent analysis, and not a single rebuttal from the left. If they truly believed Bush's tax cuts would hurt our economy, they would give him everything he asked for because they want the power back.
