As a long time newsman, the images of the statue-toppling all morning did not quite ring authentic, to me. For one thing the camera shot was very tight. There were no wide shot pullbacks.. in the PR business such shots are called "Image builders". We can expect to see the statue shots many times in the future..including Republican campaign commercials. Here is an interesting take on the event: informationclearinghouse.info informationclearinghouse.info As that great line from "Usual Suspects" goes: "The greatest thing the devil ever accomplished was to convince us he does not exist." I cite that line because it has to do with clever PR, manipulation and thought control. We get a lot more of it than we realize, from ALL directions.
