Iraq is one of the least religious places in the Muslim world, and has been over the past couple of decades. You may have noticed that it was a SECULAR dictatorship, and not an Islamist state.

As for the general misbehavior at collapse of authority re human nature, check out "Lord of the Flies" by William Golding. Add to that several decades of extreme poverty and need. You would understand the reasons for the looting in Iraq.
