Well the news about children (assuming it holds up) is the first good news about SARS that we have seen.

The NEJM has two early release articles confirming that a novel coronavirus is involved:

Significantly, one abstract states: Genetic characterization indicated that the virus is only distantly related to known coronaviruses (identical in 50 to 60 percent of the nucleotide sequence), so we really are dealing with what amounts to a brand new virus.

My guess is that within a month or so we will have a test, which will somewhat help to control the outbreak.
