Peter Arnett On Iraqi TV: The Syracuse Game Plan Has Failed

Baghdad - Mercenary reporter Peter Arnett continued his streak of placing his foot in his mouth on Wednesday by commenting on the NCAA National Championship in an appearance on Iraqi television.

Arnett's stint as a commentator on the popular Al-Jazeera sports-talk show "Pardon the Fatwa" ended on a sad note when he stated his opinion that the Syracuse game plan was a total failure. According to Arnett,

"Clearly, Jim Boeheim's game plan misjudged the determination of the Kansas Jayhawks. The first plan failed because of the Jayhawks' superior free throw shooting abilities and extremely deep bench. Now Boeheim must write a new game plan for next year." (More...)

Arnett was informed by the show's host, Muhammed al-Kornheiser that Syracuse had actually won the game. When told that Kansas' loss was mainly due to poor free throw shooting and limited bench strength, Arnett replied,

"I'm just stating what the world knows about the game. Well, actually I'm just stating what I was told by Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf. I didn't actually watch the game, I was having my comb-over re-styled. Mohammed told me that the free throw line was to become Syracuse's tomb, and that the Jayhawks would burn the Orange-infidels so badly that God would be grilling their stomachs in hell. I guess I've made a terrible misjudgement. I'll straighten this out when I find Mohammed. Does anyone know where he is?"
