You contend that Bandar, the Saudi Ambassador the the United States, runs Saudi Arabia? You can't even spell his effing name correctly.

No, Prince Bandar doesn't run Saudi Arabia. Not even close. Rather than ridicule that, I'll move on to your ANWR comment. First, it's ANWR, not ANWAR.

King Fahd will expire at some point in the future, probably within a few years. He's old. There will probably be an internecine struggle at that point. It could easily be an ugly situation for the United States, but I won't bore you with the details of my opinion about that. Suffice to say that our 'relationship' with Saudi Arabia is rather complex. Osama is a Saudi, did you know that? The Saud family gives him money. Lots and lots of money.

I'm ignoring your generality about "oil companies", and I won't mention that pesky vote yesterday in Washington.

You recall that a couple of weeks ago you posted here in writing that this war with Iraq was "all about oil". My only point in mentioning all this was to ask your opinion about how that might be, assuming your contention was true (which it isn't).

You want less reliance on Arab oil, yet you oppose developing the ANWR oil reserves. I suspect you have no problem gassing up your SUV, turning your air conditioning on a lot, and all that...but just a guess.

What would you suggest? Solar? Wind generators? I am a student of both, let me know what you suggest.
