Physician-Activists Socially Irresponsible on War

Physicians for Social Responsibility this week took its anti-war shrieking to a new level of irrationality. The swift progress of Operation Iraqi Freedom has driven PSR to proclaiming America’s success a disaster.

This is the first sentence from
"From the Executive Director"
These are dark times for the nation and for PSR. I would be foolish to say otherwise. We may be needlessly at war in Iraq as you read this. All branches of the government are in conservative hands that itch to take us back to the presumed golden days of Father Knows Best.

Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR) has a list of Board of Sponsors and in the middle of the list is Baghdad Jim McDermott listed as Hon. James A. McDermott, MD
psr.org

As it turns out the Hon. Baghdad Jim has military service- this is from his resume from his congressional website:
Military Service

U.S. Navy Medical Corps, Lieutenant Commander, Chief Psychiatrist, Long Beach Naval Station, California, 1968-70.
Medical Service

Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Psychiatry, University of Washington Hospitals, Seattle, WA, 1970-83.
Chief Psychiatrist, Seattle/King County Jail, Seattle, WA, 1978.
{snip}
The guy is a shrink playing a doctor. There should be some other kind of title given to them than "docs". I wonder how many more of those in that list have credentials like that.

The Hon. Baghdad Jim did vote for the War Appropriations (HR 1559) as well as Rangel and Polosi--- what does that mean?
They are vacillating in their convictions-- or bow to the tide of political awareness and pressure that this administration was correct, then spew their rhetoric.
