The alternative is that to avoid attack is to possess nukes. Shrub stating that N. Korea was part of the "axis of evil" put them on the path of nuclear acquisition (i.e. by throwing out the inspectors, taking nuke facilities out of mothballs and exiting the non-proliferation treaty). Good move Shrub! Now N. Korea is going to have nukes with a delivery capability of reaching the W. coast of America.
