<If these celebrities (who really have no standing to have a louder voice than the rest of us) want to have a platform to shove their uninformed, incompetent opinions down the throats of an unsuspecting populace, it seems only fair that they should suffer the consequences of their own stupidity.

If they can't stand the heat they ought to stay out of the kitchen. These people are given an ultra-large platform to speak out about subjects on which they're largely ignorant. It doesn't seem unreasonable that people who are associating with them by choice may make different choices as a result of what these celebrities say. >

So, as a conservative you are stating that free speech is stupid and it is only proper for celebrities to suffer consequences because they all have incompetent opinions that are forced upon a naive, unsuspecting public. I think you're selling short the general public and I also don't think you're familiar with Tim Robbins. He is not the Brittany Spears of the acting world. If there is somebody in the acting world that has an informed opinion it would be somebody such as him.

Still, my point remains that one has nothing to do with the other. This was a celebration of a movie that was politicized by a neocon who decided single-handedly on punitive action against someone who's opinion differed from his. Plain and simple.

P.S. I guess there should now be a questionnaire for actors to fill out before they're handed roles?
