re Pakistan: US policy seems to be this: pretend it isn't a problem, because Force (the only tool this Administration knows how to use) won't work. The lesson for N. Korea and Iran is, after watching how the US treats Pakistan and Iraq differently: develop nukes as quickly as possible, then the US will treat you with respect.
