Tech, you'll never arrive at meaningful results that way. In layman's terms, suppose you and I have a typing contest. You do 100 wpm and I do 95. Who wins? Well, depends on how many mistakes we both made, right? You can't just assume all tools are created equal except for speed.

To take this example one step further, suppose we have another contest, this time using Swedish (yes, ALYD does have a European division), and suppose I'm used to typing Swedish characters and you're not. Would I not have the advantage?

There are as many idiosyncrasies in software code as there are idiosyncrasies in the people writing it. From what I'm told, SmartCode III leads the back in ferreting these things out. You might call the Gartner Group in Stamford, CT and ask them for their Y2K tool study.
