The Bancroft family has owned Dow Jones, publisher of Wall Street Journal, for over a century. They are not Jewish.

Adolph Ochs did purchase the New York Times and the Ochs/Sulzberger family still holds most of the stock. Eugene Meyer did buy the Washington Post in a bankruptcy auction in 1933. The largest ownership interest is now in Warren Buffet's hands.
