Most of the foreign oil used by the US does not come from the middle east. According to 2001 stats, Canada was the #1 supplier of oil, followed by Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Mexico, and Nigeria.

I suspect that most of the Iraqi oil will be sold to the EU, Australia, Japan and the far east. However, an increase in production of Iraqi oil will help to drive down world oil prices. Also, it most certainly will benefit the Iraqi people, and the rebuilding of their country.
