< I think they will liberate themselves maybe with a little discreet help the the USA.>
I think any funding or "help" from the U.S., to Iranian opposition groups, would be the "kiss of death". That is, there would be a majority support in Iran, to violently destroy any Iranian groups that are seen as U.S. proxies. It would be as if Saddam had been funding U.S. anti-war groups. The worst thing that can happen to any political group in any country, is to get labelled as unpatriotic, stooges for foreigners.

Quietly, steadily, costs for wind power have decreased (0.04-0.08 $/kwh), and are now in the same range as coal and natural gas (0.03-0.06 $/kwh). Wind power, from a small base, is increasing at a greater %/year than any other power source, by a wide margin. This is no longer "blue sky" stuff for tree-huggers.
Sooner or later, we are going to recognise oil imports as our Achilles heel, a weak point in our national security that must be addressed. If we are smart, we'll do this before it becomes a crisis. |
