What we should do is not to cut taxes because its politically easy because we need those dollars to spend in specific areas. Bush wants to shift retirees to HMOs. There is insufficient funding for schools nationally although some districts are well funded and their students are the ones who get into great colleges. My point was that if we are going to get involved overseas and change the culture and values of some nations it is going to cost a fortune. An honest discussion on this might lead to wise decisions. I read a few months ago that iran and saud were funding more schools in post Taliban Afghanistan than us. What do you think those kids are learning about the US today. It will be just another generation of America haters.
