<< What does Zionism mean by definition actually? And what's its goal? >> Throughout history Jews have faced persecution, the worst of which was during the Holocaust, where 6 million, or half the Jews in the world were systematically murdered. This included 1.5 million children. These Jews had all their possessions, homes and land stolen from them. There were few places on the Earth where it had been safe to be a Jew, except for America. Jews owe so much to America and appreciate it. That is probably why so many Jews sign up when America calls. The whole idea of Zionism was to create a Jewish homeland, where Jews could go where they wouldn't be at the mercy of others. Also, those emaciated few that survived the Holocaust, most of which had their entire families wiped out, were on their last legs and needed a place to go where they felt safe. Even after all they went through, many countries throughout the world did not want the Jewish survivors to come to their countries. Many of the Jewish survivors of the Holocaust would have given up, or committed suicide, after all they went through, if it weren't for their dreams of getting to Israel, where they would feel safe, feel protected, and where their future would be in their own hands, and not in the hands of those who hated them. It's all really quite simple. I am a zionist because I believe in a homeland for Jews. For this "crime", Jews are hated even more. Sorry to be so long. Appreciate the question. Thanks! |
