Searle, they might actually get away with it, but not clean. All the governments in the world are aware of the facts, know the stated reasons for the "war" were phony, and they now must either swallow this bitter pill of dishonesty and go along with the scheme, or swallow the even more bitter pill of honest objection. Here in Canada, Bush has cancelled his May meeting with P.M. Chretien. I'm afraid we will pay a considerable price for our stance re: war.

I agree with you regarding Al Saadi. He was known as 7 of diamonds you know, one of 52 or so on the most wanted list; WANTED.....dead or alive. Pretty smart move on his part to go to the media before giving himself up to the Americans.

I have for a long time wondered about the danger of terrorism in the U.S. Was that a convenient excuse to garner fear and whip up public opinion to support the war? There has been no follow up to 911, despite the fact that there are apparently thousands of "sleepers" in the US, ready to strike with WMDs, so they told us.

I think the Kurds will again be sacrificed for a greater cause. They apparently enjoyed a semi-autonomous status, and will probably continue like that with US security guarantees.

Quite a lesson in world affairs we are witnessing, and far from over.
