that is fine but that also implies that Israelis were not aware of friendly ship and that is the bottom line. It also implies that US may not wanted Israel to ba able positively identify the ship, you know you can not hide the ship. You can either let everyone know that the ship is there or make it difficult to identify.

Israel was at war. Hostile ships would be attacked in international waters without hesitation. WWII is a good example of it.
