The Rape of the Airlines by their Executives:

Guess which head honcho had the lowest pay package and took a pay cut last year - that's right, James Parker of Southwest Airlines, the only airline out of the top 10 to make a profit. CEO pay nonsense continues 3 years after the bubble burst.

Again, it's John McCain who tries to instill some morality into these creeps, but these CEO's are only interested in greed. And the same lame-ass excuse is always used: "if you don't pay appropriately, you're not going to get the good managers" and that, ultimately, hiring "bad managers was more expensive." Well, it sure looks like the pay was more than appropriate, and the industry lost $18 billion dollars in 2 years, so that argument is for fools.
