Nope, I am in private practice of neurology in northern California and in process of moving practice and ranch (Friesian horses) to greener pastures, literally, to the Washington peninsula. I earned two degrees in math at Univ of Texas Austin, 1960-1966, GAWD! what a long time ago. Mathematics back then was one of teh University's shining stars and I still elicit gasps of awe when talking with mathematicians when they learn I was one of R L Moore's students. I was working on my PhD in summers in medical school but my major professor HS Wall of "Analytic Theory of Continued Fractions" fame (small audience) died of colon cancer rather quickly during my senior year in med school so I gave it up. It was just a labor of love anyway but the spark went out when he died. Wall knew Einstein at the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton and worked with Johnnie von Neumann, ( he used the "Johnie" and I did not!). Heady days back then but in those days the political science departmwnt was full of "fellow travelers," and Lyndon Johnson's shadow loomed large like the shadow of Sauron across the town. His wife Ladybird owned the TV stations and everyone was terrified to cross Lyndon Johnson or his bitch wife. I worked for Barry Goldwater and nearly flunked a boring but required Texas government class, the last class standing between me and my first degree because I had the audacity to challenge the shithead about being a Johnson pawn. Moore and Wall literally themselves covered my calculus classes I was teaching for the first two months of the fall leading up to the election in 1964. They told me to get the hell out of the department and go work to get Barry elected. Alas for the my poor students when the landslide for Johnson was over they had to settle for my poor substitution for Dr Moore and Dr Wall...ancient and insignificant history Dolinar but , Nein, ich arbeite nicht um Rice Universitaet.
