I don't think that Clarke will run for President and I doubt that he would be selected as the Vice Presidential candidate on a Democratic ticket. He has no natural political base and his presence on the ticket would be completely unacceptable to the 25% to 30% of the Democratic base that are hard core antiwar.

His demeanor is so wooden that Cheney looks pretty damn animated in comparison. As an analyst he is better than most of the other talking heads. Hard to pontificate with any intelligence when you don't know what the hell is happening behind the scenes. He has had the good grace to give Rumsfeld and Franks their due for running a brilliant campaign.
