we supported Saddam for ten years with weapons and monies A patently stupid position held by the neo-liberals. We also allied with Russia at one time, and hell, at one time we even liked France. Our alliance with Russia was temporary during a difficult war, and France is a democracy. Saddam was a brutal dictator. And you say liberals are "patently stupid". BTW, I am not neo anything.
