Less said the better..
Even a single life lost on both sides is immensely regretted but pundits who are paid a huge sums had this view...

<<MILLION IRAQI KIDS WOULD DIE IN CONFLICT- Feb 19 2003

ONE million Iraqi children under the age of five could die from malnutrition if there is a war, warns a confidential United Nations' report.
It says that five million Iraqis are vulnerable. Its experts estimate that up to half a million would need medical treatment for injuries.
But they think that most deaths would come from disease and starvation not military attack.
Around 70 per cent of the population - 18 million - would have no water supply and 8.7 million no sanitation if the country was blitzed.
The 27-page dossier has been compiled by the UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in New York and has been put on Secretary General Kofi Annan's desk.

BOB BROWN: Well, both those things. What we do know from the CIA and ASIO, and other experts, is that the whole world becomes a greater terrorist target in the wake of this unnecessary attack on the 27 million people in Iraq.

And there will be massive consequent casualties. The United States is talking about using three thousand smart bombs, outrageously called, obscenely called weapons, in the first 48 hours, and there are people at the other end of that trajectory.

The estimations are that there will be three million people starving in the wake of that attack, including two million children and a million nursing mothers; there'll be five million people without shelter; there'll be a million people forced out of the country, and two more million internally displaced; an enormous humanitarian task for the world.

BOB BROWN: …………..the United Nations alternatives are better than those of declaring war, but George Bush is determined to declare war, it is going to be an oil war, there will be massive casualties, including UN predictions of up to a hundred thousand people dying in the first few months.>>
