<My wife pointed out yesterday the almost unbelievable break from the norm of other armies that pillage and rape the civilian populate >
FL, the difference is in free will. Those are not conscripted people acting against their will. They are volunteers, respected and paid and believing in what they are doing.
Free will and free interchange of value is an intangible thing. A conscript has had his self stolen. He is forced into a position of killing to survive. He will be more inclined to steal, plunder, pillage and rape because consfiscation by force is the norm in the world of the conscript, with themselves as the first victim.
We will see whether the USA understands that free interchange of value when they are dealing with we subhumans who are not the Almighty's own special children. I don't believe they do understand it. Of course many do. But plenty, I suspect the majority, don't. An early test will be the profits of control of the Iraqi oil. Having got their hands on the loot, what will they do?
First they came for Osama and Omar, but those were criminal terrorist superstitious totalitarian thugs who had to be got. Then they came for Saddam, who wasn't so superstitious, but was all the thug one could wish for. Then they came for Bashar who was on the wrong side and Syria had for decades supported getting rid of Israel.
<"We believe there are chemical weapons in Syria," the president said, speaking to press on the White House lawn.
A senior Syrian diplomat went on US TV on Sunday to deny his country was either producing WMD or assisting Iraqi fugitives and terrorists.
"It's been a campaign of misinformation and disinformation about Syria since even before the war started - this is just an ongoing series of false accusations," Imad Moustapha, the deputy ambassador in Washington, told NBC news.
On the WMD charge, Mr Moustapha said:
"We will not only accept the most rigid inspection regime, we will welcome it heartily." >
There's no need for UN inspections in the American war manual. If King George II declares there are weapons of mass destruction, then the bone has been pointed and regime change is imminent.
Next they came for North Korea but that was okay because North Koreans are definitely seeking weapons of mass destruction and might even have them. What about China, Israel, France [a proven terrorist state], Russia, Pakistan [full of terrorists and Islamic Jihadis], India, Britain and the biggest bearer of weapons of mass destruction, the United States of America?
Then, having developed a taste for target shooting and with blood lust and megalomania becoming actually fun, they dealt with other global miscreants, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Iran. Well, somebody should run the world. Anarchy is NOT a good way to run a railroad and the world is a railroad. So, it was time to railroad a few people who were putting Homeland Security at risk.
Come to think of it, keeping the railroad on the rails was getting expensive so a tax was introduced on members of the railroad to finance Homeland Security and railroad administration. All importers had to pay a 30% tariff - the steel tariffs had been very successful in raising revenue and keeping local producers happy.
I wonder where it will all stop and whether subhuman aliens will be allowed to vote in regard to their taxes. I'd better re-read the American Declaration of Independence to ensure the USA isn't breaking any of their own sacrosanct rules.
Once they've dealt with all those rotten African countries, Bolivia and the other messy Latin American countries, worked their way across Asia and down through the Pacific, they'll have to deal with that mouthy broad Helen Clark. But I don't vote for her political party so that's okay. I don't usually use the expression "mouthy broad", but I'm adopting UncleWest's style to see if I can get myself in tune with and ingratiate myself with the military mind. Where do we apply for jobs with the occupying forces? Can we surrender yet, or do we have to be liberated first? When we are liberated, will be be allowed to vote for anyone we like or only approved politicians?
It's an ancient human ritual for people gaining power and wealth to get a real taste for it and go overboard. We'll see. And somebody thought that history had ended in 1990. Giggle...
