What a bunch of hooey!

I watched CNN do a long segment on the widespread looting &
chaos. They showed perhaps 1000 or so folks during the
taped portion of this segment. Of them, maybe one in ten
were actually looters. This went on & on with the reporter
doing a voice over of this so called wide spread looting &
chaos.

They showed a university where the British made a
headquarters & showed how looters had snuck in the back.
The soldiers stopped the 6 looters & made them leave. The
reporter made a big deal that the looters were allowed to
keep their bounty. Then they showed the same looters being
stopped by a Major at the front of the university who made
the looters give it all back.

The last few minutes of this segment went to a live shot in
northern Iraq (Mosul I believe). You could see several
hundred yards of downtown. The reporter, still doing a
voice over, rambled on & on about the out of control
looting & chaos going on "right now". Meanwhile all the
camera showed was fairly busy traffic & hundreds of
pedestrains milling about in the background. There was
absolutely no looting or chaos. In the foreground was about
50 people in front of the camera. All but 4 or 5 people
were standing still. The few people actually moving about
were beating the chit out of a picture of Saddam Hussein.

And the reported was still rambling on & on about the
looting we were watching live.

And that's not the only BS report about widespread looting
& chaos. Often reporters are reporting about far more than
they have actually witnessed. Particularly on CNN.

Perception is reality....... regardless of the facts.
