That's the first story I have heard of SA emigres going back. I still know many more people interested in getting out than getting in.

At the same time, SA remains Africa's best hope for a long-term success story. US policy in Africa used to be based on four pillars: SA, Nigeria, Zaire (now DRC) and Kenya. With the DRC in chaos and Kenya and Nigeria trying to come back from the edge, SA is the main game in town part from a few isolated semi-success stories elsewhere like Ghana or Senegal.
