Two objections:

(1) Muslims don't want to "convert or kill" non-Muslims. You may have noticed that their problem is with the US rather than all Christian nations. This is also quite obvious if you look at the near past, where they have never shown any tendency to invade and overtake non-Muslim nations but tended to fight among themselves.

(2) Even if we are to assume for one second that your assertion that Muslims wish to "convert or kill" non-Muslims, it would be abandoning all that our Western mentality stands for to adopt the same dark ages ideology to advocate "OK then let's invade and kill or convert THEM".

Deterrance is good enough, imho.
