Saudi Arabia is essentially unpopulated. A few camel-shit eaters over the thousands of years, plus Mecca and Medina, which draw pilgrims. The main body of people come from Yemen-to work in and around the oil industry. Watch our relations with Yemen for the key to how we adjust Saudi Arabia. It's another danger for Colin Powell. He has to STEP ON the US State Department's groveling before the Saudis.

Now that Rumsfeld has proven that Saudi Arabia can be invaded and occupied on any morning, before lunch, with virtually no losses, that new realization needs to be factored in by the Saudis, and used skillfully by Powell.

More than any other region, the ME now only lives to see the next sunrise as a result of American benevolence. That benevolence, while massive to the point of saintliness, has, like any other human phenomena, definite parameters...
