Tim, I think we totally disagree. I have yet to catch Dubya in a truth, but I'm receptive for one. I do think he is entertaining and his pronouncements are giving Baghdad Bob a run for his money. (Bob is funnier, but since he is hiding or dead, Dubya continues to gain ground). Today he referred to the Hussein regime as "horracious," then changed it to horrid when one of his minders frantically held up a cue card. <g> Also, calling this oil grab, Operation Iraqi Freedom, was a hoot. Those folks will get democracy after Florida does. But neither Dubya or Bob can hold a candle to Ronald Reagan, who had the best sense of humor of any President. Even better than Kennedy and Clinton. He got in trouble one time for it, and I thought he was ripped off. We need humor in that office. It is too overwhelmingly awesome, otherwise.
I also believe that having Powell push the wmd story was a way of hurting his credibility with the public and the world. And a punishment for temporarily committing integrity in the face of petty party politics. |
