Good evening, Dr John
And, yes, judging from the noise his next-of-kin are making on the TV the patient is still alive and, although his new heart from the Middle East is not yet functioning properly, I can see from all the excitement that there are high expectations it will.
I have to say that I can't get over how they grabbed that poor fellow and then stole his heart, all the while proclaiming they were searching for cancer --- even though the cancer specialist had given him a clean bill of health. Of course we all knew what they were really after was just to get him on the operating table, for whatever reason --- and then plunder his organs.
And the bloody cheek of it, they are going to get that unfortunate fellow to pay for the surgery, brutal as it was, the theft of his heart and his post-mortem, all from his deceased estate. Hard to believe that in this day and age of medical ethics and political correctness we can still find the Mafia operating in the disguise of doctors. Makes me want to bring up --- and give up!
I don't like to mention it, but since you asked, I think there is a good chance of that heart being rejected because of incompatibility between donor and recipient. Frankly, this is the first time that I'm aware of that a donor has actually been murdered in cold blood by the person who wished to receive his organs and without any proper compatibility tests being done. I hate to think what will happen if the transplant actually succeeds because it's clear there will then be a spate of similar "transplants by force" right across the Middle East --- for hearts, for lungs, for oil, for priceless bits of archaeology, for land, for trying out our surgical techniques, for screw you, for if-you-don't-shut-up-you'll-be-next, for what-the-hell-let's-do-it and even just for fun. Nevertheless, it seems like a real free-for-all in stolen "organs" is upon us --- of course, all for a good cause --- the enriching of you-know-who. |
