The ignore expenses Silly Con Valley business model is an unmitigated disaster that is still falling apart. The sooner execs give up this game, start expensing stock options and managing for shareholder value, the sooner Silicon Valley can get back on its feet.

There are a number of tech companies that have solid underlying business models who could likely benefit in the long run from a rule requiring expensing of stock options, and I agree with Mind, Cisco could be one of them. Let the phonys with false business plans and trumped earnings go bankrupt; let the survivors flourish and grow stronger. Surely this is preferable to the slow, water torture death of seemingly the entire Valley that we have going on now.
