Hmmm, I know Ca went Reagan, but I thought we went Bush first term? Not sure though, maybe others here have a better memory? Then we went Clinton hard in 92, a lot of that (imo) was the tech leadership fed up with Republicans allowing the japanese to dump consumer electronics in the US. Overall, imo Clinton was very popular in California, he was pretty pro-growth after all. But by 98 and the impeachment hearings, plus the social conservatives taking over the republican party it was an all dem state after that. Remember we used to have republican governors almost exclusively. Wilson, Deukmejian etc. remember them? Dems used to never win governor.
