Steeliejim,

Ah, after dinner, how pleasant: batter fried fish, rice, salad and half a bottle of a very nice (and inexpensive) Aussie cabernet sauvignon.

When I said I thought the Pentagon would manage the information, I didn't mean (and don't for a minute think) they would plant the evidence. No need. What I would like to see is an Iraqi Commission to Investigate the Horrors of Baathist Rule, complete with multivolume report, video archives, and monument/museum.

How many soldiers do we need to administer this place until we can get elections? Will the country devolve into chaos, or will nation building work?

My bet is nation building will work, but maybe not quite the way we think. After all, democracy means freedom to choose how you are governed, and what policies you pursue. France and Germany (and, one supposes, Russia) are democracies.
