The whole idea of chemical weapons does not meet the smell test. They were an experiment, encouraged by the U.S., in engageing massed infantry attacks. I think the U.S. wanted some more case studies to see if they were effective. They weren't.

After the Iran war was over there usefullness diminished even more. It's hard to imagine why Iraq would have such weapons unless they were lost items from the 1980s.

Biological weapons have even less practical application.

I am reasonably confident that WMD have not been in the Iraqi arsenal for a decade. If enough pressure is applied to find them, I don't think the Bush admistration has enough ethics to admit that fact, they will plant false leads.
