that concept has forever changed
Rediculous! War is still war. There are changes going on in the world as far as "asymetric" war is concerned. New tactics which allow a smaller and less technological force to enage a superpower.

None of that has had anything to do with the destruction of Iraq. Iraq was a third rate power who used their military as a patronage job source, not as a real threat anymore. There were some special forces operatives attacking supply lines but no real forces engaged.

There is less evidence of a connection to terrorism from Iraq, especially the Al Qaeda terrorism responsible for the attack on the World Trade Center, than there is for chemical weapons. There isn't much for the chemical weapons.

What has changed since September 11, 2001 is that a large part of the formerly free American public has given up their right to think for themselves, to immerse themselves in a pool of helplessness and despair. I find this almost as much of an affront to the dignity of the country as the chest beating of the chickenhawks. What a bunch of sniveling cowards we have grown in Generation X. Apparently there really are qualities that skip a generation.
