Ah, vive la belle province .... as Kastel says, that's standard, the promises to milk the confederation, and not just in Québec, you see it all over, BC, Alberta, wherever ..... same dynamic happening as with those who hold wars at times when it would be inconvenient for them if folks were to think about domestic matters
There were two young people voting there for the first time in their lives today .... and, shades of 'money and the ethnic vote', they don't really have a single mother tongue .... if they did it would be espanglés i guess, or spanglish, however you want to spell it .... but the thing is, they were exposed to french also, from the first words they ever heard, and if they have a preference, french is it, only because it's most common among their neighbours ..... one does impressions of local politicians, really funny and quite a feat as she is female and she's sending up men twice her age .... i don't get all the references as i'm not familiar with the local politics, but the future of the province seems quite assured with brightness like that around .... and i'm glad that these two are not only in the same family, but that they'll be in the same country with us, for a long long time |
