The man and the woman have the obligation to protect their ird... and that can be accomplished by any of the ways provided for in Islam... one such way is to ask for divorce... which is allowed in Islam. Furthermore, a woman can ask for divorce and will be granted divorce is she states for example that her husband is cheating on her.
