Perhaps IBM only has to add to their pension fund annually. I believe I read in your notes from the 4th Q 02 call that they're going to assume an 8% gain on investments made with monies in the fund. Eventually, investors have to notice that book value isn't increasing at the rate that stated earnings would imply.

My interest lies in monitoring this issue. Today, I'll be interested if GM & Ford address the state of their respective pension funds.
