Ed....

Canada has updated their file with imports and exports of NG to the US for Jan '03. In Jan '03 Canada exported 311.5 BCF to the US compared to 330.5 BCF last year. Canada also imported 31.8 BCF from the US compared to 25.4 BCF last year. With Canadian exports decreasing and imports increasing, the net effect is that there was 25 BCF less NG available for the US from Canada in Jan '03 compared to Jan '02.

It will be interesting to follow this data throughout the year. If the 25 BCF monthly shortfall continues all year, that would be a total of 300 BCF less NG for the US in '03.

Kern River gas is going somewhere already it is adding capacity but is being re-routed into a bigger pipeline.
