Yes, hanging out at places like Stop The War will definitely recalibrate your reaction meter. Either one must stay away from places like that or learn to modulate ones behavior based on the environment and the audience. I'm not good at the latter, so I do the former. I was never able, for example, to curse in appropriate situations but watch my language at the office and in front of my Mother. So I had to just quit cursing altogether.
