Personal foul. I don't really have a problem with personal fouls as long as they accompany a substantive argument. I see those as getting carried away in the heat of the moment.

I find it very offensive when there is nothing of substance said, merely an attack on the message or the messenger. "Bluster" is sort of like "vulture," only probably not as offensive.

I don't think you'd reflexively defend Thomas M. if you knew the positions he usually takes. He's very anti-semitic. This may well be a personal foul of my own, or maybe just an observation. I'd like to think it's an observation.

SI has some people who are famous for being too offensive to talk to. I won't name names.
