Well, either way, I bet Chambers is smarter than me. So who am I to judge? Especially since I don't own any shares right now. lol. So mostly my debating on these threads is academic.

BTW, here's some interesting news: Chambers gets 2 million options in the latest grant (http://biz.yahoo.com/djus/030415/1255001051_1.html).

On another topic, I think when I was young I used to be more idealistic and thought pure capitalism was the way to go. That was when I thought I was smart enough to make a million by the time I was 30. Now I'm in my 40s and I know I wasn't smart (or most likely, just not lucky enough) to make a million by the time I was 30. Instead, I'm having to do it the old fashion way, by saving continuously and copiously.

The interesting shift for me is in my views on capitalism. Now, I find myself leaning towards more socialism. Go figure, but it seems to me that the very rich people make such an unbelievable amount of money (many millions per year) that money ceases to be a motivator. Ask Chambers. I bet he isn't motivated by money anymore. So doesn't that beg the question of why they are paid so much as compared to the managers and staff? Shouldn't there be a tighter band between the lowest and the highest paid? I remember that there was one company that limited the differential to 10X. Sounded like a good idea to me, but then again, if I had been lucky enough to make a million by the time I was 30, then I'd probably be thinking differently. Call me Joe "bottom 95%" America. :)
