mark,

I was using BlackIce software as a firewall. When I got my LinksysBEFSR41 router BlackIce said that it would be smart for me to continue using it as a backup. I kept it there but noticed NO hits whatsoever were registering on the BlackIce. Then I found out that in order to share files with my other computer, the BlackIce needed to be disabled. Due to these two facts I ended up deleting the BlackIce - I now only use the router firewall. Your post is making me second guess what I did. My rationale was that since I had to keep disabling BlackIce in order to share files, and it basically wasn't getting any hits why even bother with it. Is there another software that doesn't interfere with the file sharing?
