some antivirus file scan numbers, from two different AV's on the very same operating system, performed just minutes apart....

Norton AntiVirus 2003 scanned 66,806 files

Kaspersky AntiVirus 4.0 scanned 123,764 files

NAV has "Comprehensive file scanning" selected, as well as "Scan within compressed files"

NAV has 63,420 definitions in its database

KAV has 66,629 definitions in its database

my conclusion is that kaspersky's unpacking engines are really digging deep and norton is not.
