I'm continually accused of making things up even as I post the relevant proof in the same message

I don't consider one article proof that all the museums were looted. I find it hard to believe that the entire country has been robbed of all it's museum artifacts. And if it has, it points more to an inside job than anything military.

If all I had to worry about during a war in my country was someone making off with historical artifacts, I'd count myself lucky. I don't believe that would cause people to loose their sense of self or culture. I don't think it would even be a valid military target! To me, the whole idea is laughable in that sense.

To be honest, you sound much like I felt all thru the Clinton years. You are not going to change anyone's mind on this thread. We all support our people who are in harms way and I wouldn't trade one of them for all the historical artifacts in the middle east.

I sense that you are the type of person who needs proof that there is a threat. Maybe another Sept. 11. A lot of us don't need quite that much to make us believers. Good or bad, I'd rather take him out first than be taken out by him. There will be more good than bad come from removing Saddam's government.
